Herne Bay Boccia Club. Boccia is a disability sport for anyone with any disability, whether physical, learning, male or female and of any age.
Boccia is played from a sitting position so this sport is suitable for all, with any physical or learning impairment. It is suitable for any age and is played teams of 3, in pairs or individually. Wheelchair users play sitting in their wheelchair.
When we can begin meeting again we will meet at The Catholic Church Hall, Clarence Road, Herne Bay, CT6 8TH on Fridays from 2 – 4pm for experienced Boccia players and on Mondays from 2 -4pm for beginner, or leisure players. Your first session is free, to be used as a ‘taster session’. Thereafter annual membership is £10, and the fee for each session is £3.
Herne Bay Boccia Club currently has 3 teams playing competitively in National competition and, also several of our players enter both the pairs and individual competitions at County and national level.
Boccia is a great way of learning new skills, honing old skills, meeting new people as well as making friends. A good social afternoon for all, a carer or a family member are welcome too.
